Mini Morgans is an independent nursery in Hertford, on the grounds of Morgans Primary School. We follow the Early Years Foundation Stage framework across all seven areas of learning, and every child has a key person who knows them well and plans around their interests.
Our manager holds a BA (Hons) in Early Childhood Studies, and the wider team includes Level 3, Level 4 and Level 5 early years practitioners. Meals are cooked fresh in our kitchen each day, and one all-inclusive fee covers nappies, wipes, formula milk for children up to 12 months, specialist sessions, community trips and woodland visits.

Mini Morgans offers full-day, morning, afternoon and school-day sessions. Our fees are all-inclusive, so meals, nappies, wipes, formula milk for children up to 12 months, trips and specialist activities are covered without hidden extras.
Funded childcare places are available for eligible families, including 15 funded hours for 3 and 4 year olds, 30 funded hours for eligible working parents and 15 funded hours for some eligible 2 year olds.

Children are outside every day, active play, gardening, meals in the fresh air and messy play in our secure garden. Supported risk-taking builds coordination, resilience and a healthy sense of what their bodies can do.
Woodland sessions
Alongside everything indoors, our Forest School practitioner takes small groups into the woodlands a short walk away for den building, campfire cooking and nature art, included for every child at no extra cost.

Each child follows their own journey with one dedicated key person who knows their interests, their stage and their personality, and works closely with you.
As an independent nursery rather than part of a chain, decisions are made here, for the children in front of us. Our practitioners stay for years, not months.

Learning through play
A day at our nursery in Hertford
Days are built around the children in the room. Focused activities and quiet corners, group singing and stories, meals together at the table, and long stretches of free play indoors and out. Each child's key person plans around what they are curious about that week.
Specialist sessions run through the term, dance, sports coaching, yoga, drama and languages, alongside community visits to farms, the library and Hertford town centre, and regular woodland sessions with our Forest School practitioner. All of it is included in your fee.
