We also cover the cost of trips and extra-curricular sessions, including farm visits, zoo outings, theatre trips, sports coaching, dance, yoga, drama, and language classes.

Our nursery is open Monday to Friday, 7:30 AM to 6:30 PM, including school holidays. We offer both full-day and half-day sessions to suit your family. View our session times and pricing, or learn more about our approach to healthy meals and nutrition.

Forest School

Our Forest School sessions are led by our bushcraft-trained practitioner, in both our own outdoor area and the local Hertford woodlands, just a short walk from the nursery

Children take part in activities like den building, campfire cooking, toasting marshmallows, creating art from natural materials, and walking tightropes between trees. These sessions develop confidence, resilience, physical coordination, and a genuine love of nature through safe, supported risk-taking. Forest school is included for all children at no extra cost and runs throughout the year.

Community Engagement

Learning at Mini Morgans goes beyond our nursery walls. Our Community Champion organises regular outings with local Hertford partners so children experience the world around them first hand.

Recent trips have included visits to local farms, parks, the library, and shops in Hertford town centre. These outings help children build social confidence, practise real-world communication, and develop an understanding of their local community.

All trips are included in our fees and supervised by our experienced practitioners.

Discover, Learn and Grow at our Nursery in Hertford

Awe Inspiring

Every activity at Mini Morgans is planned around your child's individual interests. Our practitioners observe each child closely and design experiences that introduce new skills, creative challenges, and moments of genuine discovery.

We follow the EYFS framework across all seven areas of learning, with a strong focus on communication, personal development, and building confidence through play. Each child has a key person who knows them well and works closely with your family to track progress and celebrate milestones.

Physical, Outdoor and Risky Play

Children at Mini Morgans spend time outdoors every day, whatever the weather. Our secure outdoor area is used for active play, outdoor meals, gardening, and messy play throughout the day.

We are located just a short walk from the local woodlands, where our regular Forest School sessions take place. Our practitioners support children to take age-appropriate risks, climb, balance, run, and explore, building physical coordination and resilience in a safe, supervised environment.

Child Led

At Mini Morgans, children lead their own learning. Our practitioners follow each child's curiosity, adapting activities in the moment to match their interests and developmental stage.

We use play-based, therapeutic approaches to help children understand their emotions, resolve conflicts, and build friendships. This is supported by consistent relationships with familiar staff members. Our team includes practitioners with Level 3 and Level 4 qualifications and over 20 years of experience in early years settings.

The Mini Morgans Ethos

We believe children learn best when they are curious, active, and engaged. Our curriculum goes beyond the classroom: children visit local farms, explore Hertford's woodlands, and take part in sports coaching, dance, yoga, drama, and language classes, all included in our standard fees. These real-world experiences build confidence, creativity, and communication skills that prepare children for school and beyond.

We celebrate different cultures, languages, and family backgrounds, and we model positive behaviour through kindness, respect, and patience every day. Our approach to nature, art, music, and physical activity is designed to support language development and social skills, giving children the confidence to express themselves and connect with others.

Mini Morgans is family-run, not part of a chain. Our Manager Sophie holds a degree in Early Childhood Studies, and our Deputy Manager Mel brings over 20 years of hands-on experience. Because our team is small and stable, children build genuine, lasting relationships with the people who care for them every day. Parents tell us their children feel at home from the very first week.
